NOW HIRING for 2023 growing season ~as needed for spring, summer, and fall hours
Position description: This position for a seasonal farm hand. The person(s) selected for this position will be considered seasonal labor on an active flower farm. The aim of this position is to help us out during our most busy times, but not all of the hours the farm is operating. This work is comparable to data entry or dishwashing, in that it’s often repetitive tasks completed independently over several hours. However, these tasks (transplanting, weeding, bucket washing, etc.) are accomplished outside surrounded by butterflies and flowers so it can be quite a therapeutic situation! The work environment is outdoors, fast-paced, labor-intensive, and also, very rewarding.
While we have fun, we are also dedicated to staying focused on completing the farming tasks in an efficient manner, regardless of the rain, wind, heat, or sometimes beautiful weather. This position is intended to be part-time and not a job that someone will be able to rely on for their sole-income.
You’ll be asked to work along with other staff and/or volunteers, as well as, on your own. Clear communication skills are valuable. This work often requires doing the same task for a sustained period of time while remaining focused, staying calm in a sometimes chaotic environment, maintaining safety when using tools/equipment, and a positive attitude even in less than ideal weather conditions. You must be able to sustain both bending and squatting positions for sustained periods of time (transplanting and harvesting flowers), as well as, be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Work Logistics:
5-10 hours a week as needed, $13/hour starting wage.
There is some flexibility in regards to scheduling but Wednesdays and Sundays are always off days. Employees must commit to working throughout the whole season (Late March through mid-December). We take 30 min lunch breaks every full day.
Employees are responsible for having a valid driver’s license, housing, reliable transportation to the farm, and appropriate farm clothes/rain gear/boots. Employees must wear a wristwatch every day.
This position is seasonal for one growing year.

Responsibilities will include:
Working closely with staff, volunteers, the farm owner, seasonal interns, etc.
Farm field work as assigned (transplanting, weeding, some harvesting and lots of bucket washing!)
