Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Slice baguette into 1/2-inch slices and place on a large baking tray. Brush the top of each slice with olive oil.
Bake the baguette slices until golden brown and crisp, approximately 5 minutes. Once crispy and out of the oven, carefully rub the top of each slice with a whole garlic clove. This will leave a delicious garlic flavor without being too overpowering.
Slice cherry tomatoes into quarters and add to a medium-sized bowl.
Drizzle a 1/8 of a cup of olive oil over top of the cherry tomatoes. Add salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar.
Stack basil leaves together, thinly slice all together, and stir into tomato mixture.
Serve the warm toasted bread slices alongside the tomato basil mixture and when ready to eat, spoon tomato mixture on top of the toasted baguette.
