Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
Pumpkin seeds are healthy and nutritious – plus they make a really tasty snack! This recipe for roasted pumpkin seeds makes for a tasty, crunchy treat the whole family will love. PLUS, you can turn your pumpkin into a spooky jack-o-lantern, just in time for Halloween!
Equipment
- 1 Colander or strainer
- 1 Oven
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Baking Sheet
- 1 Knife for cutting your pumpkin
- 1 Spoon for scooping out the seeds
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Ask an adult to cut a hole in the top of your pumpkin with a knife.
- With clean hands or a spoon, scoop out pumpkin seeds and wash in a colander to remove the pulp and fibers. Dry thoroughly with a towel.
- In a bowl, combine pumpkin seeds, olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
- Lightly grease a sheet pan with olive oil. Spread the seasoned pumpkin seeds evenly on the sheet pan.
- Bake until the seeds are toasted and crunchy (about 12-15 minutes), stirring every 5 minutes for even toasting.
- Let cool and enjoy!
