Meet Your Q&A Panel

Dr. Athey is the Specialty Crops Extension Entomologist at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on non-chemical control of insect pests in vegetables and fruit. Her current projects are exploring biological control and robotic technology in high tunnels, pest control in peaches, and climate change effects on pumpkin production. In addition to her research and extension duties, she team teaches a class in the Crop Sciences department at University of Illinois.
Evan Barry, Farmer and Owner of Down River Farm, grew up exploring the Fox River three hours north in the suburbs of Chicago. The Fox River is a tributary to the Illinois River, which flows through Peoria. He’s simply movin’ on down the river.
