Agritourism is flourishing nationwide and across Illinois as farmers increasingly recognize its potential to diversify operations and enhance farm income. Join us and learn how you can successfully incorporate engaging visitor experiences into your agricultural enterprise!

The Land Connection invites you to join us at Delight Flower Farm in Champaign to root out what planning for agritourism in Illinois looks like, where it could grow and what you need to know to get there.
This is a workshop for farmers and local food growers who are interested in learning more about adding an agritourism enterprise to their farm businesses in Illinois. Combining agriculture and tourism, agritourism offers rural experiences to urban residents and economic diversification to farmers. Planning for agritourism requires a forward thinking, locally-driven process and we hope to give farmers interested in adding an enterprise to their farm businesses to tools to get started.
Planning a successful agritourism enterprise—particularly on a flower farm—requires thoughtful, locally-rooted strategies that showcase your unique botanical offerings. Our workshop aims to equip farmers with the essential tools to transform their vibrant fields into memorable destinations where visitors can experience the beauty of blooms and more firsthand.

Guests will enjoy a tour of Delight Flower Farm, and a snack break followed by a panel session featuring a variety of experts in this topic.
Panel topics will include:
- Various types of agritourism businesses
- Financial planning
- Insurance
- Risk management
- Regulation-zoning, taxes & permits
- Best management practices/keys to success
- Marketing
Tickets are $15 and include light refreshments (we won’t ruin your dinner). This will be a great opportunity to connect with other farmers, ask questions, hear about current agritourism operations in Illinois, and tour a flower farm with the owner/farmer who has successfully been in operation for over a decade!
