This month's Kids Kits is Chocolate Maple Energy Bites. It’s a new twist on our previous PB Energy Bites recipe by Compassionate Crumbs! Using local rolled oats, this recipe is allergen-free. Try it as a summer snack or quick breakfast on the go!
Equipment
- 1 Large Bowl
- 1 Spoon for stirring
- 1 Refrigerator or freezer
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup uncooked oats
- 1/4 cup sunflower seed butter
- 2.5 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips can substitute chocolate chips for raisins
- 1/2 tsp chia seeds
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a large bowl except the chocolate chips.
- Mix well with a large spoon then fold in chocolate chips.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before rolling into balls – this makes them easier to roll. TIP: Do smaller bite-size balls for younger kids, or smash flat.
- Store in refrigerator or you can freeze if you make a large batch and thaw before eating.
