Herb & Feta Popcorn
Popcorn just got a fresh farmers market upgrade! This Herb & Feta Popcorn is a super fun snack that kids can make at home while trying new flavors. Start with a big bowl of warm, freshly popped popcorn, then add feta, basil, and seasoning for a POP of flavor.
Equipment
- Cutting Board
- Knife
- Stovetop
- Large pot with lid
- Large Bowl
- Measuring spoon
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp fresh basil
- 1 tbsp Mama’s Seasoning
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp avocado/canola/safflower/canola oil
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta
- 3/4 tsp kosher salt use less if table salt
Instructions
- Wash, dry, and finely chop basil. Set aside.
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, add cooking oil and 3 kernels of popcorn. Cover pot with lid. When you hear a kernel pop, add the remaining popcorn and stir. Cover pot again and cook, shaking frequently (hold onto the lid!) until popping slows down (1-2 seconds in between pops). Ask an adult for help!
- Turn off heat and pour popcorn into a large bowl.
- Add olive oil, basil, seasonings, and feta. Toss well. Salt to taste.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
