Basic Fruit Smoothie
Equipment
- Cutting Board
- Sharp knife
- measuring cups
- measuring spoons
- Blender
Ingredients
Farmers Market Ingredients
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup fresh or frozen berries or peaches
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
- Handful of fresh spinach (optional)
Grocery Store Ingredients
- ½ cup milk, milk alternative, or juice
- ½ cup ice cubes (only if using fresh fruit — omit if using frozen)
- 1 tsp chia or flax seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Gently wash produce under cool running water and prepare as directed. Remove all stems and any mushy berries.
- If using frozen fruit, do not thaw, and leave out the ice.
- Combine all ingredients in a blender.
- Blend on high until all ingredients are well mixed.
- Serve cold.
Notes
Substitutions
- Fruit: Use whatever combination you have on hand.
- Dairy: Use non-dairy yogurt and milk for a dairy-free smoothie, or lactose-free yogurt and milk.
- Yogurt: Any store-bought yogurt flavor can be used.
