Herb & Feta Popcorn

Popcorn just got a fresh farmers market upgrade! This Herb & Feta Popcorn is a super fun snack that kids can make at home while trying new flavors. Start with a big bowl of warm, freshly popped popcorn, then add feta, basil, and seasoning for a POP of flavor.

Equipment

  • Cutting Board
  • Knife
  • Stovetop
  • Large pot with lid
  • Large Bowl
  • Measuring spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp Mama’s Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp avocado/canola/safflower/canola oil
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt use less if table salt

Instructions

  • Wash, dry, and finely chop basil. Set aside.
  • In a large pot over medium-high heat, add cooking oil and 3 kernels of popcorn. Cover pot with lid. When you hear a kernel pop, add the remaining popcorn and stir. Cover pot again and cook, shaking frequently (hold onto the lid!) until popping slows down (1-2 seconds in between pops). Ask an adult for help!
  • Turn off heat and pour popcorn into a large bowl.
  • Add olive oil, basil, seasonings, and feta. Toss well. Salt to taste.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
