Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds are healthy and nutritious – plus they make a really tasty snack! This recipe for roasted pumpkin seeds makes for a tasty, crunchy treat the whole family will love. PLUS, you can turn your pumpkin into a spooky jack-o-lantern, just in time for Halloween!

Equipment

  • 1 Colander or strainer
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Knife for cutting your pumpkin
  • 1 Spoon for scooping out the seeds

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Ask an adult to cut a hole in the top of your pumpkin with a knife.
  • With clean hands or a spoon, scoop out pumpkin seeds and wash in a colander to remove the pulp and fibers. Dry thoroughly with a towel.
  • In a bowl, combine pumpkin seeds, olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  • Lightly grease a sheet pan with olive oil. Spread the seasoned pumpkin seeds evenly on the sheet pan.
  • Bake until the seeds are toasted and crunchy (about 12-15 minutes), stirring every 5 minutes for even toasting.
  • Let cool and enjoy!
